Wheel Horse Whiskey and Copper & Cask have released new expressions for both brands. First up from Wheel Horse Whiskey, a limited-edition Wheel Horse Narragansett Baltic Porter Beer Finished Bourbon Whiskey crafted in partnership with Rhode Island’s Narragansett Beer. Aged four years in new charred oak barrels, the Kentucky straight bourbon was finished for approximately four to five months in barrels that previously held a Narragansett Baltic Porter beer. Second, Wheel Horse Cigar Blend Bourbon Whiskey is a five-year bourbon finished for a minimum of eight months in a combination of port, Cognac, sherry and Armagnac barrels. Both expressions are bottled at 101 proof, non-chill filtered. Next, new from Copper & Cask Small Batch Series are Batches 12, 13 and 14. Small Batch Series 12 is a seven-year rye whiskey finished in port and toasted oak barrels. Small Batch Series 13 is an eight-year cigar blend bourbon finished in a combination of PX and Oloroso sherry casks, Armagnac, Cognac and tawny port casks, finished a minimum of six months, and has a total production of approximately 6,000 bottles. Small Batch Series 14 is an eight-year double oak bourbon made from 19 barrels of both low and high-rye bourbon, blended and then re-casked into new American oak wave stave barrels for a minimum of 10 months. Only 3,600 bottles are available. Both lines are distributed in Connecticut via Latitude Beverage Co. and in Rhode Island via East Coast Beverage.
