Connecticut Distributors, Inc. (CDI), hosted a visit with Deborah Brenner, Founder, Women of the Vine & Spirits, at its headquarters in Stratford on Aug. 7. Organized through Women of CDI Wine, Inspire, Network, and Engage resource group, Brenner gave an inspiring talk on leadership, inclusion and advancing women in the beverage alcohol industry. Women of the Vine & Spirits connects more than 12,000 members and 172 corporate partners, offering networking, mentorship, professional development and resources for all genders in the beverage alcohol industry. Brenner shared her journey from the tech sector to wine and spirits, where she uncovered the untold stories of women behind leading brands. She also highlighted the 86 Harassment program, which provides free industry-wide training and a 24/7 hotline, and the Women of the Vine & Spirits Foundation, which has awarded more than $590,000 in scholarships since 2017. The event was organized by Dana Badway, Casinos and Chain Account Manager, CDI, and sponsored by supplier partners Copper Cane, J. Lohr Vineyards, Jackson Family Wines, Gallo, Disaronno and Oak Ridge Winery. “We were thrilled to welcome Deborah to CDI,” said Tammy Ferrara, Director of HR, Talent and Development, CDI. “Her work resonates deeply with our mission and values, and the impact she’s making across our industry—especially for women—is inspiring.”
