ShakesBeer Fest Returns to Stratford

The annual ShakesBeer Festival was hosted on the grounds of Shakespeare Park in Stratford on Aug. 16. Guests enjoyed tastes from more than 60 local craft breweries, wineries, cideries and distilleries, with food truck eats from Cricket, Greek Style Grill, Grumpy Dumpling, Hazy Blu BBQ, Inca’s Plancha and Parlor Pizza Truck. Night Visitors and Johnnie Hollywood performed live during the afternoon event while guests enjoyed the many offerings, shopped local craft vendors and played yard games on the venue’s lawn, which overlooks Long Island Sound. The ShakesBeer Festival is organized by local beverage professionals Steven Bilodeau and Pete Rodrigues, who created the annual event to raise money for charitable causes. A portion of the event proceeds benefited athletic scholarships for Stratford students via the Stratford Oldtimers Athletic Association.
