Debra Crew stepped down as Chief Executive Officer of Diageo and as a Board Member, which was effective immediately July 16 by “mutual agreement.” Chair John Manzoni said, “On behalf of Diageo and the board, I would like to thank Debra for her contributions to Diageo, including steering the company through the challenging aftermath of the global pandemic and the ensuing geopolitical and macroeconomic volatility.” Diageo has since appointed company veteran Deirdre Mahlan as interim CFO, effective Aug. 18, replacing Nik Jhangiani, who became interim CEO in mid-July upon the departure of Crew. Mahlan spent 27 years with Diageo, including as Global CFO and head of the North America business. Most recently, she was CEO of The Duckhorn Portfolio.
