Located on the ground floor of the Harkness Building, Clementine Cocktail Bar is situated in the heart of downtown Providence, offering a lively and elegant atmosphere. Owned by Congressman and former Mayor of Providence David Cicilline, the bar takes its name from Cicilline’s great-grandmother Clementine. The team has created a sophisticated yet relaxed haven, where guests can enjoy a seat and vibrant street views from the artful and cozy bar, intimate tables or alfresco options. A fresh, modern take on classic cocktails accompanies a tasty small-plates-and-boards menu. Its drinks menu offers seasonally inspired, rotating signature cocktails and mocktails, along with a succinctly curated wine list and local craft brews.

Cocktail: Aquarela do Brasil

Ingredients:

•  2.5 oz. cachaça (or, alternately, rhum agricole)
• 1 oz. Bols Strawberry Liqueur
• .75 oz. house-made lime cordial
• Basil leaves
• Strawberry Guava Topo Chico Hard Seltzer

Method: Add cachaça, strawberry liqueur and lime cordial to a shaker with ice, shake and fine-strain into an iced-filled Collins glass. Place two to three basil leaves on top, then top with hard seltzer and give a stir.

“The Aquarela do Brasil, which translates to ‘watercolors of Brazil,’ is a strawberry cachaça cocktail, topped with Strawberry Guava Topo Chico. The name for the drink is inspired by the famous Brazilian song of the same name by artist Ary Barroso and made iconic by Brazilian pianist and composer Antonio Carlos Jobim,” said Bar Manager Jean-Marc Schweizer.

“It’s only available on our menu through July as part of our monthly cocktail special. As for its creation, it’s an instance where the stars aligned from some seasonal overstock items and the ingredients all just fell together to make a nice summer cocktail.”
