Beardsley Zoo’s annual Wild Wine, Beer & Food Safari showcased a variety of beverage brands on June 7. During the Bridgeport zoo’s annual tasting, guests enjoyed food from more than 20 vendors with beer, wine and spirits poured by dozens of supplier representatives and volunteers while walking through parts of the zoo, taking in museum exhibits and visiting some of its animals. Musical acts performed while guests played games and placed bids in the event’s large silent auction. Presented by M&T Bank, Liberty Bank, Baileys and Casamigos, among other sponsors, participating venues and caterers included Amrita Health Foods, The Batch Pantry, Colossal Kielbasa, Shake Shack, East Coast Clambakes, Dave Grant Caterers, Fortuna’s, Garden Catering, Lesser Evil, Little Pub, Nuovo Pasta, Palmer’s Catering & Events, Retreat Sweet, Rose Sisters Chips, The Taste Garden, Vazzy’s, Vinny’s Pizza and more. Opened in 1922, Beardsley Zoo is Connecticut’s only zoo and is home to more than 300 animals. The annual tasting event is the zoo’s largest fundraiser, benefiting the care of the zoo’s endangered species, expansion of exhibits and educational programming.
