Graze On Main
58 Main Street, Lower Level
East Greenwich, RI

Graze On Main is a wine bar and restaurant “rooted in a love for gathering, sharing, and thoughtfully curated food and wine.” The venue hosts a full-service dining experience, offering a seasonally inspired, made-from-scratch menu alongside a thoughtfully selected list of over 100 small-production, organic and sustainably made wines. Located in one of the oldest buildings on Main Street, originally constructed in 1770, the team restored the space, uncovering original stone and brick in the basement and transforming it into the old-world wine cellar, filled with collected pieces from estate sales and consignment finds. With its wine-centric focus, handcrafted cocktails are a showcase for educating guests on grapes and tastes beyond the bottle. Its sister venue, Piccolino, recently opened at 37 Main St. for charcuterie plates, plus wine sips and sales.

Bartender: Kassidy Barnatowicz

Cocktail: Electric Bee Primitivo

Ingredients:

  • 4 oz. Electric Bee Primitivo
  • 1 oz. blackberry syrup (2 parts water, 1 part honey, 1 part blackberries, reduced)
  • 2.5 oz. Elderflower tonic water
  • Garnish: fresh mint and/or blackberries

Graze On Main’s Electric Bee Primitivo.

Method: Add a large scoop of ice to a shaker. Add the blackberry syrup and Electric Bee Primitivo and shake. Strain into a wine glass filled with ice. Top with elderflower tonic water. Garnish with fresh mint and/or blackberries. Stir with a straw and serve.

“As a wine-focused restaurant, we love finding thoughtful ways to weave wine into our cocktails. This one was inspired by my go-to: A classic gin and tonic but reimagined through a wine lens for Graze on Main. After plenty of experimenting, this simple spritz quickly became a favorite. It’s bright and aromatic, with juicy Zinfandel at the center,” said Elyse Pare, owner at Graze on Main and Piccolino.

“The Electric Bee Primitivo is currently my favorite wine on the by-the-glass menu at Graze, so of course this spritz is at the top of my list too. Most people don’t know that the primitivo grape is just the Italian zinfandel, so it makes for a great talking point when someone asks, ‘But where’s the Zin!?’,” said Bartender Kassidy Barnatowicz.
