
Brescome Barton, in collaboration with Norwalk’s El Segundo, hosted a cocktail competition featuring Hornitos Tequila on July 23. Local bartenders competed, making their best cocktails using Hornitos Plata and Pineapple tequilas for judges Andrew Dominick, Food and Beverage Writer; Anthony McCleon, Head Bartender, El Segundo; and Joseph Alonso, Spirits Aficionado. The winners were first place: Matt Perez, Bartender, Washington Social; second place: Kate Molina, Investor and Partner, Thief, Brooklyn; third place: Brian Castro, Bartender, El Segundo; and fourth place: Pierre Fitzenberger, Bartender, Shell & Bones Oyster Bar and Grill. Produced in Jalisco, Mexico, from 100% blue agave using traditional methods, Hornitos Tequila is available in Plata, Reposado, Añejo and Black Barrel expressions.
